The Simple Truth
<br />
<div class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 10pt;">
<b style="mso-bidi-font-weight: normal;"><i style="mso-bidi-font-style: normal;"><span style="font-family: Calibri;">“Even the mystery which hath been hid from ages and from generations,
but now is made manifest to his saints: To whom God would make known what is
the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; <u>which is Christ
in you, the hope of glory</u>.” Colossians 1:26-27 KJV<o:p></o:p></span></i></b></div>
<br />
<div class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 10pt;">
<span style="font-family: Calibri;">It just hit me. I am 41 years young and still single. Jesus
take the wheel! Heaven have mercy! With that being said, I must confess
something: I personally do not believe that the average church knows how to
deal with single Christians within their church walls. (Yes, I am ducking over
here because I am certain that someone is going to throw a stone at me.) So let
me explain. I have been blessed to have visited several different church
denominations in my years. For many churches programs dominate the church body.
But this does not describe every church, only a few. There are programs for
everything that your heart can imagine. These programs consist of ministries
for those who like to cook, those who are gifted in hospitality, song leader,
youth groups, so on and so forth. However, for some churches it is difficult to
know just where to start to develop a singles gathering. Did you notice that I intentionally
did not refer to it as a “singles ministry”? Interesting! I’ll come back to
this point later in this blog post. <o:p></o:p></span></div>
<br />
<div class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 10pt;">
<span style="font-family: Calibri;">Prior to my grandmother’s death in 2013, she used to always
ask me certain questions. When are you going to have children? When are you
going to get married? I would often roll my eyes in the back of my head or
laugh under my breath. She caught it every time. I never could fully
communicate to my beloved grandmother that there are some things that are out
of my control….and these are the things that are out of my control. In essence,
I have been purposeful about doing other things. For example, I purposefully
did not want to have children outside of a marriage. I purposefully chose to
obtain two master’s degrees. I purposefully chose to move back to Tennessee.
But I did not choose to be single. I believe that being in this state of
singleness is by God’s design, definitely not my own. If it would have been
left up to me, I would have been married for twenty years now with six
children. But God had a different path and plan. So I praise Him for His plan.<o:p></o:p></span></div>
<br />
<div class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 10pt;">
<b style="mso-bidi-font-weight: normal;"><i style="mso-bidi-font-style: normal;"><span style="font-family: Calibri;">“Let not your heart be troubled; ye believe in God, believe also in me.
In my Father’s house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told
you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you,
I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may
be also.” John 14:1-3 KJV<o:p></o:p></span></i></b></div>
<br />
<div class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 10pt;">
<span style="font-family: Calibri;">In my many years of being single I have heard the cry of
many single Christians as it relates to singleness. I want to share some of
these heart-pressing issues here. So here goes:<o:p></o:p></span></div>
<br />
<div class="MsoListParagraphCxSpFirst" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt 0.5in; mso-list: l0 level1 lfo1; text-indent: -0.25in;">
<!--[if !supportLists]--><span style="mso-bidi-font-family: Calibri; mso-bidi-theme-font: minor-latin;"><span style="mso-list: Ignore;"><span style="font-family: Calibri;">1.</span><span style="font-size-adjust: none; font-stretch: normal; font: 7pt/normal "Times New Roman";">
</span></span></span><!--[endif]--><span style="font-family: Calibri;">Single Christians desire love and affection just
like anyone else. Can we all agree with this statement?<o:p></o:p></span></div>
<br />
<div class="MsoListParagraphCxSpMiddle" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt 0.5in; mso-list: l0 level1 lfo1; text-indent: -0.25in;">
<!--[if !supportLists]--><span style="mso-bidi-font-family: Calibri; mso-bidi-theme-font: minor-latin;"><span style="mso-list: Ignore;"><span style="font-family: Calibri;">2.</span><span style="font-size-adjust: none; font-stretch: normal; font: 7pt/normal "Times New Roman";">
</span></span></span><!--[endif]--><span style="font-family: Calibri;">It is often difficult to hear someone say “Just
wait on the Lord” in referring to waiting on God to send him or her a mate.
(Let me pause for a moment and insert some humor here: Often times when I hear
this comment, I can guarantee you that it is coming from a woman who has been
married to her husband for at least 150 years. It is easy for someone who
either just got married or have been married for 75 ½ years to make this
statement. Have you considered that for many singles, they do not want your
pity but your prayers? I am not saying that this statement should not be made.
I believe that in many instances, this statement is needed. However, let us
strive to connect with singles on a deeper level.)<o:p></o:p></span></div>
<br />
<div class="MsoListParagraphCxSpMiddle" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt 0.5in; mso-list: l0 level1 lfo1; text-indent: -0.25in;">
<!--[if !supportLists]--><span style="mso-bidi-font-family: Calibri; mso-bidi-theme-font: minor-latin;"><span style="mso-list: Ignore;"><span style="font-family: Calibri;">3.</span><span style="font-size-adjust: none; font-stretch: normal; font: 7pt/normal "Times New Roman";">
</span></span></span><!--[endif]--><span style="font-family: Calibri;">Not everyone who is single is battling with
loneliness. Can we all agree with this statement?<o:p></o:p></span></div>
<br />
<div class="MsoListParagraphCxSpMiddle" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt 0.5in; mso-list: l0 level1 lfo1; text-indent: -0.25in;">
<!--[if !supportLists]--><span style="mso-bidi-font-family: Calibri; mso-bidi-theme-font: minor-latin;"><span style="mso-list: Ignore;"><span style="font-family: Calibri;">4.</span><span style="font-size-adjust: none; font-stretch: normal; font: 7pt/normal "Times New Roman";">
</span></span></span><!--[endif]--><span style="font-family: Calibri;">The gathering of singles (notice again that I am
not referring to it as a “singles ministry”) is not a place for you to play
Matchmaker. It should be, however, a place of like-minded Christians to gather
and celebrate one another in the spirit of Christ.<o:p></o:p></span></div>
<br />
<div class="MsoListParagraphCxSpMiddle" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt 0.5in; mso-list: l0 level1 lfo1; text-indent: -0.25in;">
<!--[if !supportLists]--><span style="mso-bidi-font-family: Calibri; mso-bidi-theme-font: minor-latin;"><span style="mso-list: Ignore;"><span style="font-family: Calibri;">5.</span><span style="font-size-adjust: none; font-stretch: normal; font: 7pt/normal "Times New Roman";">
</span></span></span><!--[endif]--><span style="font-family: Calibri;">We understand that whoever we marry, for those
who desire to marry, he or she will not be perfect. (And for those who are
single and expecting to marry a perfect spouse, please remain single. There is no
such thing as a perfect spouse. I am sorry to break this news to you.)<o:p></o:p></span></div>
<br />
<div class="MsoListParagraphCxSpMiddle" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt 0.5in; mso-list: l0 level1 lfo1; text-indent: -0.25in;">
<!--[if !supportLists]--><span style="mso-bidi-font-family: Calibri; mso-bidi-theme-font: minor-latin;"><span style="mso-list: Ignore;"><span style="font-family: Calibri;">6.</span><span style="font-size-adjust: none; font-stretch: normal; font: 7pt/normal "Times New Roman";">
</span></span></span><!--[endif]--><span style="font-family: Calibri;">It is okay for the married folks to find unique
ways for us as single Christians to meet. There is nothing wrong with this at
all and is very much encouraged. <o:p></o:p></span></div>
<br />
<div class="MsoListParagraphCxSpLast" style="margin: 0in 0in 10pt 0.5in; mso-list: l0 level1 lfo1; text-indent: -0.25in;">
<!--[if !supportLists]--><span style="mso-bidi-font-family: Calibri; mso-bidi-theme-font: minor-latin;"><span style="mso-list: Ignore;"><span style="font-family: Calibri;">7.</span><span style="font-size-adjust: none; font-stretch: normal; font: 7pt/normal "Times New Roman";">
</span></span></span><!--[endif]--><span style="font-family: Calibri;">Lastly, just because we desire to marry does not
mean that we are sexually burning or our loins are on fire. That may be the
case for some, but not all. Let’s be honest, even Paul stated that not everyone
is meant to be single. So please do not assume. Some of us want to be married
so that we can share our lives with others. It is just that simple. <o:p></o:p></span></div>
<br />
<div class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 10pt;">
<span style="font-family: Calibri;">Here is the Simple Truth:<o:p></o:p></span></div>
<br />
<div class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 10pt;">
<span style="font-family: Calibri;">As you noticed I strictly stayed away from calling the
gathering of singles a “singles ministry”. Let me explain why. It is everyone’s
responsibility to minister to singles, thus we are a singles’ ministry within
the Body of Christ. We are all called to share love, fellowship, and enjoy
those around us who are single. That is the true essence of a singles’
ministry. And we all have it. We all can make time to get to know our single
friends who labor among us. This is what a singles ministry is about: reaching
in, reaching out, and reaching throughout the Body of Christ to share His love
to others. <o:p></o:p></span></div>
<br />
<div class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 10pt;">
<span style="font-family: Calibri;">Let us pray:<o:p></o:p></span></div>
<br />
<div class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 10pt;">
<span style="font-family: Calibri;">Our Heavenly Father, thank You for this life that You have
given to us. Thank You that we are single for a purpose. In Your timing, You
will bring those Christians around us so that we can fellowship and provide a
greater fulfillment in their lives. Thank You for this. Thank You for every
opportunity You give to us to reach out to others as part of our own singles
ministry. Thank You, Heavenly Father, for ordaining this very moment. It is
always my prayer that this blog touches someone’s life to the glory of Christ.
May You fill us with more of You so that we can continue to share Jesus Christ
with others. We love You, Father God and we seek to be more like You every day.
Forgive us of our sins and grow us in Your Word and in Christ. We pray this in
Jesus Name. Amen. <o:p></o:p></span></div>

Why friendships are so important. The Simple Truth.
<br />
<div class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 10pt;">
<b style="mso-bidi-font-weight: normal;"><i style="mso-bidi-font-style: normal;"><span style="font-family: Calibri;">“So now faith, hope, and love abide, these three; but the greatest of
these is love.” 1 Corinthians 13:13 NKJV<o:p></o:p></span></i></b></div>
<br />
<div class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 10pt;">
<span style="font-family: Calibri;">I have to tell you about a dear friend of mine. I am
positive that since this post, in part, will be dedicated to her….I may come up
missing because she definitely does not like fanfare at all. However, this
friendship deserves to be recognized in so many ways. <o:p></o:p></span></div>
<br />
<div class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 10pt;">
<span style="font-family: Calibri;">Many years ago, the Lord blessed me to meet a beautiful
Christian woman by the name of Kimberly. We met at a church in Nashville
shortly after I moved to the city. We share so many things in common. She has
taught me what a true friend is. We share the same birthday month. Actually,
the Lord designed our birthdays just nine days apart. How beautiful! She has a
sincere love for animals and people; but more importantly she has a love for
God.<o:p></o:p></span></div>
<br />
<div class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 10pt;">
<span style="font-family: Calibri;">I remember the time back when I lived in south Nashville,
the apartment building next to me was on fire. I lived on the second floor in
this apartment complex. When I tell you that the apartment fire was contained,
please believe me. There was no threat to my actual apartment at all.
Nonetheless, Kimberly drove down the street….through all the fire trucks….backed
her truck up to my balcony and told me to “jump in”. I laugh to this day. Now
that is a TRUE friend. Then I am reminded of the time I threated her at the
carnival in Antioch. The carnival came to the area several times a year. So on
this particular occasion, the only money either of us had was my laundry money.
Well we decided that we would ride some of the carnival rides. I was against
this from the start. But my dear friend encouraged me to ride; so I did. And when
the carnival ride started, I remember telling her in no uncertain terms….”I am
going to kill you.”….all while laughing, playing, and having fun. Thankfully we
both lived through the carnival ride and we still laugh about it today.<o:p></o:p></span></div>
<br />
<div class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 10pt;">
<span style="font-family: Calibri;">God has blessed Kimberly and me to have lived in two of the
same states. We both moved to Texas in December 2004. To this day, we are each
other’s bff’s (best friends forever). To be honest, she is my sister from
another mother. This is how we refer to each other. We make a beautiful blend
of a Christ-honoring friendship. <o:p></o:p></span></div>
<br />
<div class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 10pt;">
<span style="font-family: Calibri;">I shared all of this to say that when God places friends in
our lives, we should hold on to them like Kimberly and I held on to that
carnival ride. We would not let go. We were spinning around in the air for what
seemed to be an eternity but it was only a few minutes. So let me say how
important it is for us to strive for God-honoring friends. Kimberly and I have
been through many trials but we have remained friends. We are sisters!<o:p></o:p></span></div>
<br />
<div class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 10pt;">
<b style="mso-bidi-font-weight: normal;"><i style="mso-bidi-font-style: normal;"><span style="font-family: Calibri;">“Two are better than one, because they have a good reward for their toil.
For if they fall, one will lift up his fellow. But woe to him who is alone when
he falls and has not another to lift him up!” Ecclesiastes 4:9-10 NKJV<o:p></o:p></span></i></b></div>
<br />
<div class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 10pt;">
<b style="mso-bidi-font-weight: normal;"><i style="mso-bidi-font-style: normal;"><span style="font-family: Calibri;">“Greater love has no one than this, that someone lay down his life for
his friends.” John 15:13 ESV<o:p></o:p></span></i></b></div>
<br />
<div class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 10pt;">
<span style="font-family: Calibri;">I cannot express to you just how important friends are. They
comfort us when we hurt. They console us when we grieve. They bless our souls.
They pray for us and with us. They are there in times of trouble. They forgive
us when we are wrong. They carry our burdens. A true friend will be there
regardless of the circumstance or situation. Friends are ordained by God. Let
us cherish every moment we have with our friends. <o:p></o:p></span></div>
<br />
<div class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 10pt;">
<span style="font-family: Calibri;">So today I want to encourage every woman reading this blog
post to go out and meet and make a new friend. <o:p></o:p></span></div>
<br />
<div class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 10pt;">
<span style="font-family: Calibri;">Here is the Simple Truth: We have been richly blessed by God.
He sent His Son here to save us from eternal damnation. We have so much to be
thankful for. So on today, I praise You Father God for my dear friend Kimberly.
I thank You God for all of my friends. They mean the world to me. So let us
strive to be a true friend to others. Be there for others and share Christ with
others. Let us ever desire to esteem our friends higher than ourselves. Make a
new friend. Share Christ. But most importantly be that friend that you would
want also.<o:p></o:p></span></div>
<br />
<div class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 10pt;">
<span style="font-family: Calibri;">Let us pray: <o:p></o:p></span></div>
<br />
<div class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 10pt;">
<span style="font-family: Calibri;">Heavenly Father, You have blessed Kimberly and me with so
many beautiful years. Thank You for Your love, grace, and mercy. Thank You for
many more years of a beautiful friendship and sisterhood with Kimberly. May You
touch each friend that is in our lives at this very moment. Let every person
who considers me as their friend know that I love them and am earnestly praying
for them. Father God enrich our lives with more of You, so we can share Christ everywhere
we go and with our friends. Thank you for each person you add to my life. May
they know the love of my Father in Heaven. Bless us this day to be more
Christ-like in Jesus Name. Amen.<o:p></o:p></span></div>
<br />
<div class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 10pt;">
<o:p><span style="font-family: Calibri;"> </span></o:p></div>
<br />
<div class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 10pt;">
<span style="font-family: Calibri;">By the way: June 20 was Kimberly’s birthday. Happy birthday
Kimberly. Happy birthday month. I love you my sister.<o:p></o:p></span></div>
<br />
<div class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 10pt;">
<o:p><span style="font-family: Calibri;"> </span></o:p></div>
Tyrondahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08962953840319434157noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1572479566013970898.post-52472175567693398652016-06-16T21:50:00.000-07:002016-06-16T21:50:20.741-07:00Driving forward while looking back. Simple Truth Devotion
<br />
<div class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 10pt;">
<i style="mso-bidi-font-style: normal;"><span style="font-family: Calibri;">“Brethren, I count not
myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things
which are behind, and reaching forth until those things which are before, I
press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.”
Philippians 3:13-14 KJV<o:p></o:p></span></i></div>
<br />
<div class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 10pt;">
<span style="font-family: Calibri;">Have you ever tried to drive down the street while
constantly looking in your rear view mirror? If you have tried this with
success, then there is a high probability that you wrecked your car. It is very
difficult to do. And if you are anything like me, I get distracted so I must
pay attention to the road at all times. I have a small confession to make….there
are some driving maneuvers that are difficult for me to task. Let’s face it; I
am sure that I am not the only one who struggles to parallel park or back into
a space. So, don’t laugh at me just yet. To be honest, when driving we must
remain focused on the task set before us. Driving truly does take a lot of
skill.<o:p></o:p></span></div>
<br />
<div class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 10pt;">
<span style="font-family: Calibri;">So let us go back to my original question: Have you tried
driving down the street while constantly looking in your rear view mirror? I
wouldn’t suggest this. Why? Because the rear view mirror is only made for you
to see behind you for a few seconds at a time. It isn’t meant for you to constantly
be looking through your rear view mirror while driving down the road. Such is
life. How often do we try to maneuver the tasks ahead while thinking about our
past failures? The Bible states the following: <o:p></o:p></span></div>
<br />
<div class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 10pt;">
<i style="mso-bidi-font-style: normal;"><span style="font-family: Calibri;">“Therefore if any man
be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all
things are become new.” 2 Corinthians 5:17 KJV<o:p></o:p></span></i></div>
<br />
<div class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 10pt;">
<span style="font-family: Calibri;">So my question for you today: How much time do you spend
thinking about your past failures? In other words, how much time do you spend
looking in the rear view mirror of your life? Let’s face it…we have all failed
at something. I can tell you about the numerous diets I have been on and lost
not one meager pound. Failure! The word <i style="mso-bidi-font-style: normal;">failure</i>
has been misused in so many ways. The word <i style="mso-bidi-font-style: normal;">failure</i>
is looked at so negatively that there are those super-spiritual people (you
know who they are) that do not want you to even mention the word <i style="mso-bidi-font-style: normal;">failure</i>. Not all failure is bad. Let me
explain. There are some relationships that need to fail as they are not
producing fruits of righteousness. There are certain acts that we do that need
to fail. Why? Because they are not producing fruits consistent with our walk
with Christ. Again, please do not misunderstand my point here. <o:p></o:p></span></div>
<br />
<div class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 10pt;">
<span style="font-family: Calibri;">I want us to take a good look in the mirror and drive the
car forward. Do you remember driving school? What is the first thing the
teacher taught you? 1. Adjust your mirrors. 2. Look in your rear view mirror.
3. Let’s drive! We must stop looking in the rear view mirror and move the car
into the drive position. Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ
Jesus. Philippians 2:5 KJV<o:p></o:p></span></div>
<br />
<div class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 10pt;">
<span style="font-family: Calibri;">Here is the Simple Truth: Let us not get caught up in failed
relationships, failed opportunities, failed anything. Some things need to DIE
in order for Christ to LIVE and to live richly in us. Besides how do you know
that God hasn’t prepared for you a rich, growing, vibrant relationship? How do
you know that God hasn’t prepared a new opportunity that will allow you to lead
souls to Christ? How do you know whether God isn’t preparing a place for you
amongst your enemies, so that you can be a witness? There are countless
opportunities, in Christ, when we move forward. <o:p></o:p></span></div>
<br />
<div class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 10pt;">
<span style="font-family: Calibri;">Therefore, my sisters let’s move forward. Let us be busy
with the work of Christ while it is yet day. Let us learn from our failures but
not bathe in them. Let us be ever willing to trust God for our needs. Let us
keep striving and moving forward. <o:p></o:p></span></div>
<br />
<div class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 10pt;">
<span style="font-family: Calibri;">Ladies let us pray.<o:p></o:p></span></div>
<br />
<div class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 10pt;">
<span style="font-family: Calibri;">But before we pray, let me share my desire for all of us. My
desire is that our bellies will be full of the living waters that flow from
having a deep relationship with Christ. <o:p></o:p></span></div>
<br />
<div class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 10pt;">
<span style="font-family: Calibri;">John 7:38 states, “Whoever believes in me, as the Scripture
has said, ‘Out of his heart will flow rivers of living water’”. NJKV<o:p></o:p></span></div>
<br />
<div class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 10pt;">
<span style="font-family: Calibri;">Ladies let us pray:<o:p></o:p></span></div>
<br />

Happy New Year and what's to come from this blogWe are well into the new year so I should first start by saying Happy New Year to everyone who visit this blog. There are so many things to talk about from a single woman's perspective that it would take all month to discuss such topics, especially since they all focus on Christ, our Lord and Savior. I would also like to take the time to thank everyone who visited my blog in my absence. Thank you for the kind messages. Mostly, thank you for supporting my writing and this Christian blog. I am assured that there are many Christian women blogs out there. So I am delighted that you have chosen to read these writings and to provide your feedback. I am most humbled by your comments.<br />
<br />
So much has taken place since I last blogged. My life has been a story of love, humility, and a lesson on forgiveness. As for now, I plan to start back to writing about topics that are of interest to Christian women. With that being said, thank you for your patience and keep coming back often. My next blog will be on the topic of forgiveness. This post should be up very soon. Thank you all again.<br />
<br />
In Christ,<br />

desperate to hear God’s voice and with good reason. They are desperate to hear
from God in regards to life’s circumstances, as we all should be. We are living
in perilous times where there will be a plethora of false teachers, false
prophets, and false preachers everywhere wanting to give us some “word”. We are
living in a time where Truth is not popular and anything that may tickle our
ears is by far more palatable. Furthermore, if you turn on Christian television you will indeed
hear a word, but is it the Word of God? </span></div>

to our first love. I pray that this note will not only encourage you but will
also lead you deeper into the study of His Word to find the very answers you are seeking. For every question that you may have, God’s Word has an
answer. In today’s society we want everything handed to us on a silver platter.
We do not want to do the work, study the Scriptures that will lead to spiritual
life and light. We want someone else to tell us what they feel God is showing
or telling them. Are we indeed following a stranger’s voice or are we following
the voice of God? <span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>I submit to everyone
that if we want to hear God’s voice, read His Word. It really is that simple.
When we overlook God’s Word to go to other people to try to get some sort of “word”
or prophesy, we make that person an idol. We place that person above God. In
essence when we face trials and tribulations and we will as Christians, our
first priority should be to run to God’s Word. Pray and study His Holy Word. We
are definitely told in Scriptures to seek out wise counsel from Godly people. I
believe Proverbs 12:15, Proverbs 13:10, and Proverbs 20:18 would all agree with
this. However the problem arises when we place wise counsel over seeking God
for ourselves. </span></div>

that all of us will run to our Heavenly Father to seek Him for the answers we
so desperately need. He is ever willing to hear us when we call upon Him. Have
you called upon our Heavenly Father today? </span></div>

difficult to picture discipline and love in the same sentence. But on the
contrary, what parent does not discipline their child? If you love your child

<div class="MsoNormal">
<span style="font-family: "Times New Roman","serif"; font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 115%;">We live in a society today where you can find a
church just about on every corner. In some neighborhoods, you find the church
just down the street from the liquor store. There are new churches being planted
annually by various organizations throughout our country and even the world.
With so many churches it goes without saying that it should be easy to find a
Biblically based church that teaches God’s Word <u>unashamed</u>. Now I
underlined the word “unashamed” as there are many churches that will teach
whatever you desire to hear; but very few churches are willing to preach the
Word of God unashamed. I often talk to brothers and sisters in Christ who share
their frustration with trying to find a Bible teaching church. So my question
is, “Don’t you have a church in your neighborhood?” Although I know the answer
to that question, I’m just trying to make some light conversation…and possibly
add some of my humor to the subject matter. Notwithstanding there are many
churches but few that teach the uncompromised Word of God. Why? Because many
have gathered to themselves their own kinds of teachers. (Reference 2 Timothy
4:3-4)<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>The other issue is that today’s
modernized “Christian” has no desire to hear the Truth. They can’t handle the
Truth. They want to be motivated to serve God. This is why we find Apostate
churches so prevalent today. And let me tell you, it is best that you get a
full understanding of what an Apostate Church looks like so as to avoid it at
all cost. </span></div>

means to remove, abandon, to become renegade. When I talk about the Apostate
church I am referring to churches that are far removed from the counsel of God,
His Holy Word. The Apostate Church refers to any church were God’s Word has
been exchanged for that which appeals to emotionalism, sensationalism, and
often times idolatry. In essence these Apostate churches have exchanged the
Truth for a lie, plain and simple. (Reference Romans 1:25)</span></div>

These “churches” have exchanged the glory of God for a lie. Because of this,

This indeed is the concept of the Apostate Church. The true Gospel has been so
watered down that it isn’t the Gospel at all. God’s Word has been kicked out

The Apostate Church exists because some who profess Christianity do not want to

sensationalism that occurs in these “churches” on Sunday is a shame to the
Cross of Jesus Christ. This isn’t “Church for Dummies”. This is a flagrant
disregard for anything that resembles the Bible. Let me share something with you.
For those who attend such churches there is a disregard for studying, reading,

The Simple Truth.<br />
<div class="MsoNormal">
I will never forget the day when I had a little bit of extra
money in my hands as a college student.
I went to the Fashion Bug department store in Dyersburg, Tennessee and
purchased a skort set. Well you may be
tempted to ask “What is a skort set?”.
Skorts were very popular back in the early to mid 90’s. These sets were made to look like a short
skirt in the front, all the while it was actually a pair of shorts. My desire was to be with the latest fashions
and “what not”. So, I purchased this
outfit and brought it home. Being the
teenager that I was and sure that since I was legally declared an adult, my
mother wouldn’t have any issues with my new fashion purchase. I should have known better. I mean… I was raised by Momma V, as she is so
popularly known now. So in the small
moment in which I lost my mind to even purchase this stuff, I decided to wear
it outside while my mother was gone away from the home. Well, when she returned
she didn’t hold back her thoughts on my latest fashion mishap. Momma would later say, “This mess is TOO
short”. Well, she was right. And of course since I was still living at
home, I dare not argue with her… after all, she is my beloved Mother. All I could remember was “You’re not wearing
that… not in my house”. Enough
said. Well, the skort set ended up in
the garbage… along with my sister’s My Buddy Doll… but that’s another story.</div>

You may be wondering why modesty is so important. Why do a blog on how women dress? Is it really important? Before I answer those questions, let us look
at the definition of the word <u>modest</u>.
According to the Merriam-Webster Dictionary, modest is defined as
“having a moderate estimate of oneself; observing the proprieties of dress and
behavior”. </div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
Being modest in your dress means dressing in such a way so
as <b style="mso-bidi-font-weight: normal;">not </b>to bring shame to the glory
of God, to your husband (if you are married), and to the body of Christ as a
believer in Jesus. In this modesty, we
as women are to dress in such a way as <b style="mso-bidi-font-weight: normal;">not</b>
to bring attention to ourselves by what we wear. So this explains why I can’t go to the salon
and ask for blue, green, and yellow weave.
NO! First of all, I’m not joining
a circus; secondly, it would bring too much attention to self, which is ungodly
to say the least. Everything that we do,
including what we wear, should glorify God. </div>
<div class="MsoNormal">

<div class="MsoNormal">
<u>Why is dressing modestly so important</u>? Ladies, we all need a checkup from the foot
up every now and then. We need to

behind all of this self-promotion. And
no, I’m not against us looking presentable at all. However, we’ve bought into a lie and a trick
of the devil, to make us think that we are to show off our figures, our

another. The issue of modesty is an
issue we all are dealing with, including me.
Like I stated earlier, this post offends me… and I’m the writer. So don’t be discouraged. I’m not here to give you five tips on
showcasing your beauty. I’m not here to
bring you under legalism or bondage for that matter either. I’m here to help us all to glorify God in how
we dress and in what we wear. So to that
end, we need to pray for one another ( James 5:16; Colossians 1:9-13). But also in prayer, let us remember that
faith without works is dead (James 2:26).
Therefore, we need to be the women God is calling us to be. Thus, we will live holy and acceptable unto
the Lord, our God. <b style="mso-bidi-font-weight: normal;"><u>Ladies,</u></b><u> <b style="mso-bidi-font-weight: normal;">are you
ready to pray?</b></u></div>

In Christ, our Helper forever: Heavenly Father, I come to You to first
humble myself and to ask You for Your forgiveness of my sins. Father God, I ask for Your forgiveness of
dressing in a way that does not please You nor bring glory to Your Name. Please forgive me for every time that I
caused a man to lust over me in what I wore.
Forgive me for using Your temple, this body, in a manner that did not
please You. I am Your child. I live to bring You praise. Please be my Helper and show me how to bring
honor to You in how I dress and in what I wear.
Let me know the importance of being modest in all things as unto You, my
Heavenly Father. Help me to display
Christ to a lost and dying world, even if it means displaying Christ in how I
dress. To all things be done for Your
glory forever, in Jesus Christ Name.
Amen. </div>

<span style="color: #535353; font-family: "times new roman" , "serif"; font-size: 13pt;">As the Lord blessed me to
celebrate my recent birthday, I began to ask myself some thought-provoking
questions. You see, I have taken the past several weeks, if not months, to
evaluate myself in light of Scriptures, to reflect on the goodness of God, to
meditate on His precepts, and also to ponder. Over the past several years, I
have seen single women make some poor choices in choosing a mate all because
they did not wait on the Lord to give them His best in a mate. And of course by
the time a woman reaches a certain age, there are undoubtedly many questions as
to why marriage hasn’t come yet. It almost reminds me of that old saying: Are
we there yet? Well…not yet my friends. But this is not a lesson on cultural
society’s expectations for marriage. This perhaps may be a lesson on the
sovereignty of our faithful Lord. So if you are single, as I am, you may be
tempted to ask some similar questions as to why you remain single. To be
honest, I stopped asking that question years ago. Why? Because God has shown me
through His Word the importance of waiting on Him. Besides in this life we will
have to wait, whether we like it or not. So why not wait on God’s choice for a mate?
To be honest, part of my desire to wait has been based on seeing so many
people, even those whom I dearly love, make choices based on their emotions
rather than choosing a spouse based on God’s Word.</span></div>

Marriage is a beautiful blessing from the Lord: a God-given covenant

explains why no one should enter into a marriage lightly. If you believe like I

walk uprightly. We are His children. We seek to please Him in every way. Even

Sometimes we as single women can tend to focus too much on why we are not
married. When we should ask ourselves, what can we do to prepare for marriage,
if marriage is the Lord’s will for us? How can we as single women best serve
the Lord during this time of singleness? Should the Lord tarry, here are some
things we as single women need to remember:</span></div>
<div class="FreeForm">
<br /></div>
<div class="FreeForm">
<span style="font-family: "times new roman" , "serif"; font-size: 13pt;">1.</span><span style="font-family: "times new roman" , "serif"; font-size: 9pt;">
</span><span style="font-family: "times new roman" , "serif"; font-size: 13pt;">It is God’s will to give to those a husband as He
desires.</span><span style="color: #535353; font-family: "times new roman" , "serif"; font-size: 13pt;"> Genesis 2:18 states </span><span style="color: #535353; font-family: "times new roman italic" , "serif"; font-size: 13pt;">“And the Lord God said, It is not good that the man should be
alone; I will make him an help meet for him.”</span><span style="color: #535353; font-family: "times new roman" , "serif"; font-size: 13pt;"> (KJV). God is holy and He is sovereign. Job 42:2 states </span><span style="color: #535353; font-family: "times new roman italic" , "serif"; font-size: 13pt;">“I know that You can do all things, and that no purpose of Yours
can be thwarted.”</span><span style="color: #535353; font-family: "times new roman" , "serif"; font-size: 13pt;"> (ESV). Our Heavenly
Father knows when the time is right to introduce you to your future mate. So
let us be still. You never know who you may meet while in the frozen foods
section of Wal-Mart. God is the BEST Matchmaker. EVER!!!</span></div>
<div class="FreeForm">
<span style="font-family: "times new roman" , "serif"; font-size: 13pt;">2.</span><span style="font-family: "times new roman" , "serif"; font-size: 9pt;">
</span><span style="font-family: "times new roman" , "serif"; font-size: 13pt;">Be NOT idle! Do not waste this time wishing you were
married.</span><span style="color: #535353; font-family: "times new roman" , "serif"; font-size: 13pt;"> Spend this time doing the
Lord’s work wherever you find your hands to do. 1 Corinthians 10:31 states </span><span style="color: #535353; font-family: "times new roman italic" , "serif"; font-size: 13pt;">“So, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the
glory of God.” </span><span style="color: #535353; font-family: "times new roman" , "serif"; font-size: 13pt;">(ESV).</span></div>
<div class="FreeForm">
<span style="font-family: "times new roman" , "serif"; font-size: 13pt;">3.</span><span style="font-family: "times new roman" , "serif"; font-size: 9pt;">
</span><span style="font-family: "times new roman" , "serif"; font-size: 13pt;">Do not despise your married friends.</span><span style="color: #535353; font-family: "times new roman" , "serif"; font-size: 13pt;"> It only lends to covetousness of which the Lord has already
given us His Word on that subject. (Reference Exodus 20:17).</span></div>
<div class="FreeForm">
<span style="font-family: "times new roman" , "serif"; font-size: 13pt;">4.</span><span style="font-family: "times new roman" , "serif"; font-size: 9pt;">
</span><span style="font-family: "times new roman" , "serif"; font-size: 13pt;">Prepare yourself.</span><span style="color: #535353; font-family: "times new roman" , "serif"; font-size: 13pt;">
Now I’m sure you all have heard this one before. Read the Bible. If you desire
marriage, pull out those Scriptures that pertain to the role of a wife towards
her husband. This is even beneficial for those single ladies who do not have
the desire for marriage. Also find a good Biblically based book on the subject
of preparation for marriage. This will come in handy as you prepare. Seek the
advice of other Godly women who are married. Ask them some questions as to how
their spouses went through the courtship process with them. Gather as much
information as possible.</span></div>
<div class="FreeForm">
<span style="font-family: "times new roman" , "serif"; font-size: 13pt;">5.</span><span style="font-family: "times new roman" , "serif"; font-size: 9pt;">
</span><span style="font-family: "times new roman" , "serif"; font-size: 13pt;">Seek out accountability beforehand.</span><span style="color: #535353; font-family: "times new roman" , "serif"; font-size: 13pt;"> I am aware that there are some Christians who are with the
mindset that accountability is not biblical or that perhaps they do not want
others in their business. Well…that’s not my view. I invite certain Godly
people into my business. Why? Because of the issue of sexual purity, and my
desire to maintain my sexual purity when I am in this courtship process. I need
accountability and you do to. We do not need to think of ourselves so highly
and super-spiritually minded as to think that we are not prone to sexual
immorality. If this wasn’t so, then the Apostle Paul would not have written 1
Corinthians chapter 7 to address such issues. (Reference 1 Corinthians 7).
Proverbs 27:17 – </span><span style="color: #535353; font-family: "times new roman italic" , "serif"; font-size: 13pt;">“Iron sharpens
iron, and one man sharpens another.”</span><span style="color: #535353; font-family: "times new roman" , "serif"; font-size: 13pt;">
(ESV).</span></div>
<div class="FreeForm">
<span style="font-family: "times new roman" , "serif"; font-size: 13pt;">6.</span><span style="font-family: "times new roman" , "serif"; font-size: 9pt;">

is from Revive Our Hearts Ministry of Nancy Leigh DeMoss which includes 31
prayers wives can pray for their husbands. I am convinced that as single women,
we can at least pull a couple of these prayers to pray over our future
husbands.</span></div>
<div class="FreeForm">
<span style="color: #188796; font-family: "times new roman" , "serif"; font-size: 13pt;"><a href="http://www.reviveourhearts.com/articles/31-days-of-praying-for-your-husband/"><span style="color: #000099;">http://www.reviveourhearts.com/articles/31-days-of-praying-for-your-husband/</span></a></span><span style="color: #535353; font-family: "times new roman" , "serif"; font-size: 13pt;"></span></div>

We do not know everything. We have not all the answers. But one thing I can say
with surety is that our God is faithful. He hears our prayers and His timing is
certainly perfect. Let us rest in the hope that our faithful Father in Heaven
will perform His will in our lives, whether that is to remain single or whether
that is to marry one of His children. Psalm 138:8 – </span><span style="color: #535353; font-family: "times new roman italic" , "serif"; font-size: 13pt;">“The Lord will perfect that which concerneth me: thy mercy, O

<div class="MsoNormal">
Disclaimer: This post will offend you IF you attend a church
that does NOT teach the teachings of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Be
warned. </div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
For those of you who know me…and know me well, then you know
that I like dessert. Cakes, cookies, pies, you name it…as long as it has sugar
in it, then I’m a fan. Only until recently after several visits to the
doctor and having spent entirely too much money on insurance copays, did I
decide that it isn’t that important after all. I’ve come to understand that in
life, there are far more important things other than my lust for dessert. And
yes, I call my passion for dessert a lust. So please, don’t stop me…at least
let me rebuke myself. The important things in life should be to glorify God, spend
time connecting with others, and building lasting friendships with His
children. Now that’s living! </div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
As much as I do like dessert, it often makes me think of
what would happen if a person only ate junk foods. Could a person survive on a
diet that only consisted of what is considered as junk food: cakes, donuts,
cotton candy, sugary snacks…you get my point here? Right? What if that person ate but the meal was
often watered down and not nutritious? What if the meal itself was tainted? <u>Would
you still eat it?</u> What if the meal had no real nutritional value at all? </div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
So it is for many Christians on the Lord’s Day every Sunday
morning. You see, as much as I am actually happy about giving up my desserts,
I’m also sadden that many Christians choose to have what I call dessert on the
Lord’s Day far too often. What am I talking about? Well, it is what our culture
has come to accept on Sunday mornings, attending churches where expository
teaching and true Biblical theology are often forgotten and exchanged for
messages that focus on how we’re supposed to be happy, have more $$$$$, chase
success…and a host of other foolish ideas that I can’t even go into right now. My
sincere question is “Where is the Bible”? </div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
Now here is the simple truth: Many churches in today’s
culture are giving what I’d like to term as “cotton-candy type theology” which
isn’t Biblical theology at all. And although I didn’t come up with the phrase,
it is worthy to repeat. Why are so many settling for cotton-candy Christianity?
What am I trying to say here? Well let’s see, you have churches that are giving
parishioners partial truth. And let me say this humbly, partial truth really
isn’t Truth at all. Instead of giving people the Truth that if they die in their
sins, they WILL go to hell, what some so called churches are telling people is
that God accepts everyone, whether they are currently practicing sin or not.
Really? Where’s that in the Bible? You see, we can’t just pick and choose what
we desire to believe in the Scriptures? The Bible states: “All Scripture is
breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction,
and for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be competent,
equipped for every good work.” 2 Timothy 3:16-17 (ESV). We are living in a day
where few want to hear the Truth.</div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
1 Timothy 4:1-2 “Now the Spirit expressly says that in later
times some will depart from the faith by devoting themselves to deceitful
spirits and teachings of demons, through the insincerity of liars whose
consciences are seared.” (ESV).</div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
Now I’m sure you’re wondering how in the world this pertains
to women, particular single women. We women are more prone to make decisions
based on our emotions, which is what the evil one desires most. We are the ones
who are most prone to being gullible (might I remind you of who was tricked in
the Garden of Eden, Reference: Genesis 3:1-6. And unfortunately we as women can
tend to be silly. (Please see my disclaimer). Now of course that is not always
the case, but we must be careful. Reference: 2 Timothy 3:6-7. </div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
This brings me back to my opening comments about desserts.
Here’s my question to you: Would you attend a church where Christ has been
exchanged for a message that makes you feel good?</div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">

messages that lend to your emotional side? Let me break it down Tennessee style,

what I call a church lost: where Jesus was exchanged for a more self-centered

Haven’t we all been there? On the receiving end of some
juicy gossip that has nothing to do with nothing, a possible misunderstanding
perhaps. If we are honest with ourselves and honest with the Lord, we all have
partaken in having loose lips, both on the giving and receiving end of gossip. Let
us be honest with one another…gossip hurts! And once its poison has filled a
space, it is difficult to retrieve back the words that have been spoken. But there
remains a question that should be asked: <u>Why do we gossip in the first
place? What is the purpose for gossiping? </u></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
Ephesians 4:29 – “Let no corrupting talk come out of your
mouths, but only such as is good for building up, as fits the occasion, that it
may give grace to those who hear.” (ESV)</div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
The Merriam-Webster Collegiate Dictionary defines <i style="mso-bidi-font-style: normal;">gossip</i> as the following: “a person who
habitually reveals personal or sensational facts about others; a rumor or
report of an intimate nature; a chatty talk.” This definition is being placed
here, not to condemn anyone but so that we will know the truth. (Reference:
John 8:32; Ephesians 4:15). This definition refers to someone who makes it a
habit of telling the personal business of others…and unfortunately we all know
those who easily fit into this category all too well. We all need to be
reminded of what gossip is and why it is dangerous. </div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
So let’s tackle the questions I posed earlier: Why do we
gossip in the first place and what is the purpose for gossiping? Let us look at
the last question first. The purpose of gossip is to: defame the character of
another, to tear down someone, to make someone look unfavorable, to cast doubt
on someone, and to also make the gossiper look as if he or she has some inside information
that perhaps no one else has…in other words to glorify self. Lastly, why do we
gossip? I believe the best response I can provide comes from <i style="mso-bidi-font-style: normal;">James 3: 5-10 “So also the tongue is a small
member, yet it boasts of great things. How great a forest is set ablaze by such
a small fire! And the tongue is a fire, a world of unrighteousness. The tongue
is set among our members, staining the whole body, setting on fire the entire

reptile and sea creature, can be tamed and has been tamed by mankind, but no
human being can tame the tongue. It is a restless evil, full of deadly poison.

Here is the Simple Truth: “2 Corinthians 12: 20-21 “For I
fear that perhaps when I come I may find you not as I wish, and that you may
find me not as you wish—that perhaps there may be quarreling, jealousy, anger,
hostility, slander, gossip, conceit, and disorder. I fear that when I come
again my God may humble me before you, and I may have to mourn over many of
those who sinned earlier and have not repented of the impurity, sexual immorality,
and sensuality that they have practiced.” (ESV) My fellow sisters in the faith, let gossip not be named
amongst us as children of the Most High God. Let us repent for speaking ill and
gossiping about others. May our speech be seasoned with only communication that

which is able to save your souls.” James 1:21 (KJV)</div>

The Simple Truth.Devotion: Genesis 2; Colossians 1:1-23 <br />
<br />
I am not sure where my mind was this morning. I chose the hottest time of the morning to take a three mile walk where there wasn't any trees to give me shade while I exercised. Now granted, my alarm was set for 6:45 this morning but of course, it only made sense for me to turn that thing off. After all, I'm on vacation. No alarms needed...well so I thought. So as I am walking, I am thinking "I got this". Only until I reached one of two deep hills did it occur to me, <i>can't I take some sort of pill that would have the same effect?</i> I mean...what is the purpose of exercise in the first place? As I get to the halfway mark, my mind ponders of all the ways I can get out of exercising. Can't there be a jogging pill that would miraculously allow me to lose twenty pounds in ten minutes? Or what about jogging in my dreams? That always seems to work while I am asleep. But in reality, I am far removed from that. Then it hit me, just like the genius I think I am, <i>why can't I just sleep with my ten pound weights under my pillow?</i> You know where I am going with this. What about weight loss through osmosis? It makes sense to me. But of course these things never work. Then I am reminded of James 2:17 "<i>Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone.</i>" (KJV). <br />
<br />
Isn't this how some of us think we will learn the Bible? We often think that biblical knowledge will just hit us in the face while we're driving down I-45 in Houston. And believe it or not, there isn't a quick-fix way of learning, memorizing, or knowing Scripture apart from daily studying the Bible. As I write this blog, my mind reminisce about my days at the University of Tennessee. There were nights when many of us students thought that we could sleep with notes under our pillow and pass the Geology exam the next day. Well, that didn't work either. And I dare not say what grade I got in Geology (sense I am aware that my mother also reads this blog). I'd better just stick with saying that none of these things work! <br />
<br />
Scriptures tells us to "<b>Study</b> to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth." 2 Timothy 2:15 (KJV). Now this brings me to where I would like to be with this blog entry. Single ladies, how are we studying to show ourselves approved unto God? What are we doing with our time? It is a true statement that as single ladies, we are able to dedicate more time to the Lord. (Please reference: 1 Corinthians: 7:32-35). However I am sure that some do not feel this way about their singleness. This is part of the reason why I wanted to start a Christian single women's blog for the rest of us. So let me get back to my original question: Single ladies, how are we spending our time? Are we basking in the richness of God's Word on a daily basis? Or do we think that biblical knowledge will hit us through some deep revelation that we receive from some television show? Not entirely. We are called to hold up the Word of God through our lifestyles. Which also means that in order to know what our lifestyles should be, we must read and study His Word, His instructions for us as singles. And may I state again that we are assured that osmosis in this matter does not work. :)<br />
<br />
Here's the simple truth: If you are struggling to find some quiet time, maybe we as single women can help each other. Consider the following:<br />
*30 minutes of quiet time in the morning before work; <br />
*Going to the park to meditate on a Scripture you are memorizing for the week.<br />
*Going out to dinner with other women and sharing with them the Scripture that has touched you throughout the week.<br />
*Turning off the evening news to focus on a passage of Scriptures. (Now I know what you're thinking...I must watch the evening news Ty. I must.) Well, again, not entirely. If you live in Houston, I'm going to give you the evening news in 2 seconds: someone got robbed, someone got shot, someone did something stupid. That's it. So now you can resume your Bible study. <br />
<br />
Lastly, "<b><i>So we do not lose heart. Though our outer self is wasting away, our inner self is being renewed day by day. For this light momentary affliction is preparing for us an eternal weight of glory beyond all comparison, as we look not to the things that are seen but to the things that are unseen. For the things that are seen are transient, but the things that are unseen are eternal</i>." 2 Corinthians 4:16-18 (ESV). </b><br />
<br />
<u>In Him, our only Hope</u>: Dear Heavenly Father, thank You for giving us life, health, and the very breath we breathe. Thank You, my Father, for blessing us to fellowship with Your children, to read and study Your Word, and to know You more. Keep us from temptations and from everything that does not glorify You in word or deed. May we be the children who delight in You all the days of our life. Now unto Him who is able to keep us from falling in order to present us unto Himself, unto You be glory forever and ever in Jesus Name. Amen.<br />

<br />
<div class="indent line" id="p20031030_08-1">
It often saddens me to see how women are portrayed in our society. We are no longer looked at as the daughters of God, His very beautiful creation. You don't have to look any further than television commercials to see that women are portrayed in ways that are not glorifying to God. Each time I take a trip to the local market, I'm reminded that society's image is stamped on many a woman's mind. This is evident in how some women dress and what they say. Why is this so? Well, many have believed the falsehood that society has told about women. Instead of us seeing ourselves as beautiful, society says that we are to see ourselves as sexy, a diva. Women are seen as sex symbols, someone to lust over and lust after. But what does the Bible say about all of this? Charm is deceitful, and beauty is vain, but a woman who fears the <span class="small-caps">Lord</span> is to be praised. Proverbs 31:30 (ESV). So what's a woman to do? Where do we fit in? As we look into the heart of God through His Word, we see that we are beautiful and lovely. We take what society says and compare it to what God's Word says. We earnestly desire to become that Biblical woman who honors God above all. </div>
<br />
So where does this leave me? It leaves me wanting all the information the Bible states about what my role is as a woman, specifically as a single Christian woman. I am happy to report that I do not consider myself a diva, nor do I desire to be a diva. Why? Because the concept of being glamorous and sexy does not lend to the concept of Biblical womanhood. Therefore, my cry for every single Christian woman, including myself, is that we govern ourselves according to Scripture. If we see ourselves in the light of His Word, then we have no desire for this diva-fied mentality floating around. It is far removed from us. What God desires for us is to live our lives to satisfy our perfect Husband, our Savior, our Lord.<br />
<br />
<b>Our Only Hope</b>: Heavenly Father, thank You for Your love to me. Thank you for making me into the woman You delight in. Father I ask that you use me for Your work, that I may be pleasing in Your sight. Help me to let the Light of Jesus Christ shine in me as I walk alone this journey every day. May the meditation of my heart and the words of my mouth be pleasing in Your sight always. In Jesus Name. Amen. <br />
